Wthout the cornerstone of Personal Appearance by the signer before the Notary Public, the entire notarization process must fail. It is only through Personal Appearance that the Notary can Positively Identify the signer and determine Willingness and Awareness.
Personal Appearance DOES NOT mean a telephone call from the signer to the Notary
Personal Appearance DOES NOT mean the signer can remain in another room or location near the Notary, with the documents being passed in and out.
Personal Appearance means the signer must appear before the Notary, on the day and at the time of the notarization. The notarial certificate must accurately reflect the date the signer personally appeared before the Notary.
